Providence Medical Center Dietary Department
Fourteen (14) individuals staff Providence Medical Center’s Dietary Department; seven of them are full-time employees.
A consulting dietician from Faith Regional Medical Center, Norfolk, Nebraska, visits Providence Medical Center weekly. She is available for outpatient diet instructions following an order from the patient’s physician.
The Dietary Department provides meals for the Senior Citizen’s Center in Wayne, Nebraska, and also prepares all the meals for the local Meals on Wheels Program.
The Senior Citizens Center averages approximately 625 meals a month and the Meals on Wheels total approximately 440 each month. This includes meals that are delivered to Winside, Nebraska, two times each week.
A cafeteria is provided at Providence Medical Center for all hospital personnel and guests of patients for the noon and evening meals. Homemade rolls, muffins, and coffeecakes are offered during the morning coffee break time. Cookies and beverages are provided for many meetings and outpatient clinics.
