The Providence Medical Center Laboratory, under the supervision of Elizabeth Erwin, is well equipped with modern instrumentation to fulfill the diagnostic testing needs of our local physicians and our visiting specialists.
The PMC lab is staffed on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis to assure coverage of all emergency needs. We have achieved accreditation for complex clinical testing since implementation of CLIA licensure in 1988, through inspection and comprehensive competency testing.
PMC's laboratory medical director, Dr. Thomas Carroll, is a full-time clinical pathologist at SLMC in Sioux City, Iowa. He, along with the SLMC laboratory staff, serves all of Providence Medical Center's needs in offsite testing and pathology. They also provide daily courier service for special pickup and report delivery.
Lifeserve Blood Bank has served our blood transfusion needs since 1974. They provide excellent service, maintaining regular inventory and meeting all emergency needs of blood and blood products. They utilize the wonderful donor volunteers of Wayne and the surrounding areas to keep their inventory sufficient for their client's needs.
Annual lipid and colorectal screenings are offered to the public by Providence Medical Center Laboratory staff. These correspond to HEART MONTH in February and COLON CANCER AWARENESS MONTH in April.
If you have questions about the services provided by the Laboratory at PMC, please call 375-3800 and ask for one of our technologists.
