Wound Care

Melissa Dobbins, DO; Janis Harrison, RN,BSN,CWOCN,CFCN; Susan Kvols, RN; and Brooke Hansen, LPN, all members of the Providence Medical Center Wound Team traveled to Baton Rouge, LA in September, where they participated in four days of training sponsored by the Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention (LEAP) program offered by the National Hansen's Disease Center in Baton Rouge.

The Providence Medical Center Wound Team is currently blending its new skill of casting with today's newest developments in wound dressings to successfully heal foot wounds that historically led to amputation.  Providence Medical Center is believed to be the only facility in Nebraska to offer this method of Diabetic Foot Wound Treatment.
